The council shooting sports committee will be conducting an archery rangemaster training. The purpose of the training is to qualify individuals to assist with managing those ranges in support of Cub Scouting in Marin. All the Cub Scout events and activities that the council operates (such as Family Fiesta, Tiger Cub Expedition, Cub Scout Turkey and Bunny Shoots, etc.) require volunteers to run the ranges. The archery training will also qualify someone to run a range for Boy Scouts and Venturers.
Upon completion, participants will receive a pocket certificate, which is valid for 2 years. Once trained, rangemasters are asked to volunteer at least 8 hours a year to staff the archery range. For whatever event you staff, your Scout can shoot for free, assuming it is age-approrpriate (e.i., Cub Scouts don't shoot at Boy Scout events, and so on).
Just think how excited and proud your Scout will be to see his parent leading a range!
This is a USA Archery Association Level 1 training. Last day to register is March 1 because we have to order training materials from USA Archery.
