DESCRIPTION:Family Fiesta Weekend in May 2026! \n \n \n What is Family Fiesta? Family Fiesta is a weekend family camping experience for Lions through Webelos together with their family members. This fun program will introduce the Cub Scouts and their families to some of the activities that are offered during our Summer day camp weeks at Camp Tamarancho. Just like at camp, events and activities are run by members of Scouts BSA troops, Venturing BSA Crews, and the Order of the Arrow members of Talako Lodge. The Cub Scouts will get an opportunity to meet Summer day camp staff and older Scouts, and as a bonus, get an idea of all the fun and exciting things that await them when the move on to Scouts BSA units in the future. \n \n \n \n Theme & Activities: The theme is "Spring Ahead to Tamarancho", and will provide an opportunity for Cubs, siblings and parents to learn and practice Scout skills, Handi-crafts and traditional values. Marin Council troops and crews will lead campers in events ranging from field sports, climbing, nature hikes, shooting sports, crafts and exploration. The day will close with a campfire program. \n \n \n Fees & Registration: Registration is managed only by FAMILY --- not by Pack. The fee is $95 per Cub with parent and $45 per additional family members (age 5 and older; under 5 are free). This price includes camp fees, a fun day of programs and all the food(!): three meals on Saturday plus Sunday breakfast! This is a weekend event that goes from Friday evening through Sunday morning. Please note: registration will end on May 12, 2026. \n \n \n Who Can Attend? Family Fiesta is for the entire family; parents, Cub Scouts and siblings. Also, Cub Scouts can bring invited friends who are not Cub Scouts but are Cub Scout age (Kindergarten through 5th grades). Lions can attend, but they cannot participate in Archery or BB guns at the ranges, per BSA policy. Invited friends must have an adult partner (parent/guardian/family member) with them in order to camp overnight. \n \n \n Camping: You must bring your own camping equipment as none will be provided. All campsites have potable water, picnic tables, and a few have brick fire pits. Vault or flushing toilets are nearby. If your pack is camping with other packs, please "do your best" and share the facilities. \n \n \n Forms: Everyone must bring their copy of the BSA Annual Health & Medical Record parts A & B, as well as Marin Council Shooting Sports Authorization for any youth under 18 that will be participating at the ranges. You will be sent and information packet after your registration! \n \n \n If you or anyone in your group has food allergies, we must receive your medical forms stating so at least one week prior to the start of the event so we can order food accordingly. Otherwise, we will not be able to accommodate your special dietary needs! \n \n \n To review all our other fun Cub Scout Camping events for Summer adventure, please see our webpage! \n \n
