What makes a "Trained" Adult Leader?  It's just 3 easy steps!

1)  To be registered with the Marin Council, Scouting America, an adult must complete "Safeguarding Youth" (formerly Youth Protection) Training and show proof of completion at the time of application for membership.  Plus, it must be renewed annually in order to remain registered.  Without a current renewal, adult leaders will be automatically removed as BSA members at the end of their membership term.  This includes Merit Badge Counselors who are registered with the Marin Council, in addition to their own unit registration.

2)  Hazardous Weather training is required for all registered adults.  It doesn't take long to complete this online and you will
learn some great information! Just click on the title and the link will take you there!

3)  All registered adults must complete the leader position-specific training for the volunteer assignment they have accepted in order to wear the "TRAINED" patch on their uniform.  Consistent training ensures that our Scouting youth are receiving the best possible leadership by our adults participants.  Click here for more information about Scouting America's adult leader training.
